MANZANITA ROOTS

These manzanita roots come from a shrub/tree that grows in the desert or arid areas in the West. The roots are heavily gnarled. The wood is very hard and is a deep red to golden brown color. Each manzanita root is unique - no two are alike. They make excellent bases for bird or fish carvings. 

If you specify your intended use when ordering, we will attempt to select one to fit your request.  
These roots may have one side cut flat for mounting to a base.

Flat back Driftwood

Flat back driftwood for use as mountings for bird, small animal, or fish carvings.  This driftwood works very well as a mount for either table top or wall hanging display.  This flat back driftwood has been harvested, cut through the center to provide a flat mounting surface, and tumbled and washed to yield a weathered look.  There is no soft or rotted wood.  These root sections are a product of nature - no two are alike.
